15.01.2016· Alright, new update. The replacement pump is a VDO (part nuer is a match for my e46 as well), so it *should* be decent quality. When I crimp off the fuel line at the pump (pump only has one line) with some vise grips (with rubber hoses on the ends to protect the pipe) the pressure still drops, but much more slowly, from 40psi to 20psi in about 5-6 minutes after engine off. I was easily able to install this in my sons 2004 BMW 330i E46. Did not need to remove the alternator, just air clear housing. I purchased new washers made of copper, worked perfectly. No leaks after 2 weeks of use. Old hose was original BMW and leaked at the hose to banjo fitting crimp, lower end. Need a spot flashlight to see it well.
